Acorn Hill was established in 2001 after I spent 10 years at IKEA North America. I was employed
there as a VMS systems manager for all of the retail side vaxes and alphas. In the early days of the IKEA intranet,
my side job was developing web pages for various departments.
After I completed my webmaster certificate from Penn State University, I decided to leave IKEA. I wanted to
continue developing websites but this function was being relegated to a different business group.
